The Student Experience
What’s Bob’s Story?
Bob Moog invented and manufactured electronic music instruments such as synthesizers and Theremins in Asheville, NC. Students will learn about Bob Moog’s story of invention and creativity either through a visit to the Moogseum in Downtown Asheville or through a mobile exhibit that comes to their school. They’ll get to experiment with some of electronic music inventions, and learn how they are used to create popular music and movie sound effects. In the process, they’ll learn about the science of sound waves and the impact of innovation.

Make Your Own Theremin!
Students will make their own mini-Theremin from a kit. In the process, they’ll learn about electric circuits and sound waves.
Make Your Sound Story!
Students will work in teams to create a short audio story or podcast, and make sound effects using their Theremins and other tools in order to bring stories to life.
